What do you need to perform on oranum.com?
We are happy to welcome you to our Oranum community. As a starter, let us explain what you need to go online and stream on the site. Going online is easy! You only need a good webcamera, a computer and a stable internet connection. However, for a great first experience and outstanding service, the right equipment is necessary. The better grade camera, stronger computer and faster connection you have, the higher quality your stream will be.
Once you have the equipment, you will be able to go online via our own OranumCam application and start streaming right away. Our application comes in two forms; the built in browser version and the higher quality standalone software.
Below you can see the technical requirements for our dedicated software, OranumCam. With the minimum requirements you can run the software with a stable image quality, while with the recommended specifications you can stream at a much higher quality which is one of the requirements for the good video rating.
We strongly recommend using a desktop PC with ethernet cable connection instead of a laptop (or notebook) for your work due to potential performance and heat issues (notebooks will often downgrade performance in order to prevent damaging due to heat), furthermore a desktop PC will most likely provide you a wider range of possibilities (e.g.: upgrading hardware).
In case your device does not include an Ethernet Cable Port, (e.g Apple MacBook Air) make sure to get an adapter to ensure the most stable operation.

Recommended computer
The 1280x720p and 1920×1080 resolutions are visible in the software in case you have the necessary dedicated video card or an Intel processor with integrated video card that supports hardware encoding. In case the resolution is not visible in the software upon start up, you may need to check the following:
- Check and make sure that you have the latest OranumCam installed! FHD resolution will be available only in the latest version of OranumCam. To download the latest version of OranumCam, please find the link on the Home Page in your Broadcaster Center.
- Ensure that your computer’s processor is an Intel CPU with Intel QuickSync Video available or that you have an Nvidia (that support NVENC encoding) or AMD (that supports VCE/VCN encoding) graphics card. Your camera should also meet the recommended specifications of our site. Without this hardware, the HD resolution will not appear in OranumCam.
- Download and install the latest graphics drivers. Make sure they are running constantly.
- In case you are using an Intel processor for hardware encoding:
- You can find and download the latest versions from here.
- You can see if the Graphics Driver is running by checking the bottom right corner of your taskbar. If you see the blue Intel Graphics icon, it is running.
- In case you are using an Intel processor for hardware encoding:
INTEL Driver & Support Assistant
- INTEL Driver & Support Assistant – Install this tool to get driver and software updates for most of your Intel hardware.
- Once downloaded, run the .exe file to install Intel Driver and Support Assistant.
- If the installation completes, click the tray icon, and choose Check for new drivers.
- The app can also be started from the Windows Start menu by typing or selecting Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to find and launch by clicking on the icon.
- Note that an active internet connection is required to detect any possible updates.
- The utility now opens in your default web browser. On the page, you should see any available driver updates, along with other information about your PC, such as BIOS, processor details, motherboard information, etc.
- Please check the appropriate boxes confirming your consent to proceed with the update and then click Download all to download all available updates.
- Once downloaded, click the Install all button to commence with the installation.
In case you wish to broadcast using a dedicated video card you may use an Nvidia or AMD card that supports a certain type of video encoding. For these, you will not necessarily need to have an Intel processor.
Ensure that the selected graphics card is under power which you can do by plugging your computer screen’s cable into the necessary card’s slot.
Below you can find the different manufacturers and the methods to update their graphics cards:
Nvidia
In case you are using a dedicated Nvidia graphics card you will need one with NVENC encoding available. Do note that not all Nvidia cards come with such encoding.
See the list of NVENC cards here.
A few details that are also necessary in case of Nvidia GPUs:
- Use the card’s own software to keep the drivers up to date:
- Download from here: GeForce Experience
- For NVidia cards, the minimum version number of driver is: 456.71
- Or visit their website and search for your card’s specific driver from their downloads list.
GeForce Experience
- Download and Install Nvidia GeForce Experience.
- Launch the program after the installation has been completed.
- Click the “Check for updates” button if GeForce Experience hasn’t checked recently. Go to the Drivers tab in the top right corner of the app.
- Click “Download” next to the update.
- Choose your installation type. The Express Installation option should be fine for most users. Advanced users can choose the Custom option.
- Your screen may flicker or shut off for a moment during installation.
Manual updating
Visit Nvidia’s official website. You can download the latest drivers from Nvidia’s website. Navigate to https://www.nvidia.com/ in a web browser.
- You’ll need to know what model your Nvidia graphics card is. If you do not know, you can find out what graphics card you have using Device Manager on Windows.
- Click the Drivers tab. It’s in the upper-right corner of the Nvidia website.
- Select your graphics card. Use the drop-down menus at the top of the page to select your graphics card.
- Click Search. It’s the green button below the drop-down menus. This searches for a graphics card driver for your operating system.
- Download the driver installer.
- Run the installer. Double-click the installation file in your web browser or Downloads folder to run the installation file. The installer will automatically remove the old drivers and install the updated ones.
- You will be given the option to do an “Express” installation or a “Custom” installation. Most users can choose the “Express” option during installation.
- Your screen may flicker or go black for a short time during the installation.
AMD
For AMD graphics cards, you will need one that comes with VCE/VCN encoding. Do note that not all AMD cards come with such encoding.
Below you may find the most important details regarding AMD GPUs to ensure it would be able to handle OranumCam accordingly:
- Latest graphics drivers must be installed. You may use the card’s own software to keep the drivers up to date: https://www.amd.com/en/support
- Any AMD graphics card released in 2012 and later should come with VCE/VCN encoding.
- A list of card series can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units
- Please note that AMD’s Oland-series cards do not have this feature.
- Or visit their website and search for your card’s specific driver from their downloads list.
The following AMD Radeon™ Graphics cards do not have H264 encoding:
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6500 XT (4GB)
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6500 XT
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6550M
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6400
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6500M
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6450M
- AMD Radeon™ RX 6300M

- Radeon™ 625
- Radeon™ 620
- Radeon™ 610
- Radeon™ 535
- Radeon™ 530
- Radeon™ 520
Without H264 encoding the HD resolution is not available in OranumCam.
Auto-Detect and Install for Windows® 10/11Download and Install
Auto-Detect is a tool developed by AMD to automatically locate and install any AMD related component’s latest driver.
- Auto-Detect and Install for Windows 10/11 tool from https://www.amd.com/en/support
- Once the setup is completed, the AMD Auto-Detect tool will automatically launch and detect the model AMD Ryzen chipset or AMD graphics.
- You will now see the latest compatible driver available for your AMD device
- Select the desired drivers and click Install to begin the process.
- This will download the appropriate driver package and you will be able to get the updated AMD driver running on your system.
The technical recommendations for running OranumCam applies for OranumCam only. If you are running extra resource consuming applications or you are using a 4K monitor/TV with your computer, purchasing a dedicated video card is highly recommended in addition to your integrated graphics.
On NVIDIA’s side beside NVENC you need a card with at least PureVideo VP7 decoding.
Earliest GPU with VP7:
- GeForce GTX 960
On AMD‘s GPU beside the VCE/VCN you need UVD 6.3 decoding or higher.
Earliest GPU with UVD 6.3:
- Radeon 400/500/600 series
