Introduction
Voice and Video Calls allow you to engage with your Members even if you are offline and you do not have time for streaming. You can receive these Calls in our Oranum Broadcaster application which is available for Android and iOS devices as well. For further technical requirements, please refer to this Wiki page.
In order to start receiving Voice/Video Calls you need to enable the feature in the application in the Messages menu. You can freely change the availability anytime.
Members can decide whether they would like to initiate a Voice or Video Call. During both type of Calls you are visible and audible so we recommend that you ensure your background is professional. Members are only audible during Voice Calls, but they will be both audible and visible during Video Calls.
You can set or change the price for this feature in your Broadcaster Center or in the Oranum Broadcaster App under Settings → Video Call. The lowest price is 2.99 Credit/Minute and the highest is 19.99.
There is an option to blur the Member’s camera feed. If you enable this, the Member’s video feed will be hidden during the Video Call. If you decide that you wish to see the Member, you can unblur the feed during the conversation as well. If this feature is not turned on, you can still change your mind and blur the feed while being in a Call.
Once enabled, two icons appear on your Profile – Video Call and Voice Call – and Members will have the option to call you, just like a regular Video Call, so you can provide your spiritual services for them.
For Members, this feature is available in web browsers on both desktop and mobile devices. You can only accept calls via the Oranum Broadcaster App.
Why accept Voice/Video Call?
A great way to earn when you do not feel like streaming on the Site, but you have time to engage with your Members.
Every Video Call increases your earnings and you may also win prices in the Awards game!
Answer a Video Call on iOS device
If you answer an incoming Video Call from an iOS device, and the device is locked when the phone starts ringing, you must manually enable the camera to be paid for the Call. That is:
- The phone starts ringing while the screen is locked -> Swipe to answer the call (see screenshot 1).
- Tap the camera button to enable the video feed (see screenshot 2) – if the Expert needs to enter a Passcode/FaceID/TouchID, she/he must do so for the camera to work.
The abovementioned situation only happens if the device is screen lock protected (as in most cases), an alternative to this may also be to simply remove the screen lock setting.
Manually turning on the camera by tapping on the button ensures that the device is unlocked and the video feed is turned on.
If the video feed is not established from your side, you do not get paid for the Call, and the Call will be terminated by the system after 30 seconds.
