Introduction
During the Rating process, we will check the technical side of your stream as well as the overall aesthetics of the place you would be going live from.
While rating your Feed, we will take a look at the following:
- The quality of the video stream: resolution, continuous stable broadcast quality with clear and sharp picture, along with balanced lighting conditions.
- The background (spiritual decoration is a plus)
When you are visiting us on the Support Chat our colleagues will guide you through the process, give you feedback and if necessary, help with the changes.
Having a Good Video Rating means your Feed has been reviewed by our Support Team and it met our requirements, however, a Bad Rating will reflect in your earnings. Receiving a Bad rating for either Audio or Video, will deduct 5%-5% from your earning percentage, meaning that from the starting 30% Income Share you could start with 20% instead.
One of your most important tools to grab the attention of your visitors is your room. It is not only recommended to follow the guides, but also profitable from the beginning.
Reminder: An achieved Good Video and Audio Rating is not permanent as our Support Team monitors the Site constantly. Therefore, if your Feed would not meet the requirements for the Good Ratings, we could set them to Bad or change Bad Ratings to Good ones even after contacting you and discussing the details. ( These are usually caused by switching things around your Feed such as the lighting or moving to a different location)
Here you can see how a Good Rating looks in OranumCam 5:
Requirements of having a Good Rating
Our goal is to provide the best possible experience to our Members, therefore we have the following requirements:
- smooth Feed with a continuous 30 FPS without any lag or stuttering
- organized background and an overall tidy area
- preferably a spiritual themed decoration around you
- being well audible without disturbing noises in the background
- good quality camera with a Video Feed that is not blurry/pixelated
- correct camera angle/position (for the best position you should be visible from your torso upwards with the camera at eye level)
- well lit surroundings
Our admins evaluate the overall quality of your stream, which means any of the above missing could lead to a Bad Rating.
In the next few paragraphs, we will discuss several topics and give you a guideline on how to set up your Feed accordingly.
Lighting
Good lighting is not only important to be seen properly but it can also affect the quality of your camera too. In many cases, simply turning on the lights can increase the Video quality greatly.
If you only have a lamp on your ceiling, we recommend placing your camera directly under it so that it lights you better than if it was behind you. Also, getting more lights will be more profitable on the long run to give you a more lit setup.
To further improve on the lighting conditions, we suggest buying a ring light or a desk lamp that could be turned on anytime you go live.
Our Tip: Get LED lights upon investing as they are known for consuming less power, providing brighter light and producing less heat than traditional lamps.
When it comes to the lighting conditions, there are a few common mistakes that can affect both your Feed and the overall impression a Member may get when they enter your room.
Wrongly positioned light source:
This is an issue that is relatively easy to solve. In most of these cases the light comes from a ceiling lamp, which makes shadows appear on you or the items around you, altering your image. This way, your face will be half visible and half covered but in certain cases the lamp can also be seen in the Feed which results in a constant bright spot that looks blinding.
Natural lights:
You may prefer natural lights in your room but throughout the day this light source keeps changing which can result in your Feed being visible differently at all times.
Not to mention, if the sun shines through the windows in the background it may even make you hardly visible.

Background conditions
Having a clean space is just as important as being correctly visible in the Feed.
If you have clothes or different objects in the background that are not organized properly, they may create a bad impression upon entering your Room and even make you appear unprofessional.
Remember, the first thing the Members notice is the overall look of your area. If your Room is well-organized and beautifully decorated, it encourages Members to stay longer and they may also bring up topics about some elements they noticed during their stay.
Some may say “the more the better”. In this case, we advise against filling your room with different decoration pieces and pictures as your camera would start to focus on them with time. Due to this, your camera may get blurry and distorted which can once again lead to a Bad Rating. Thus, we say “less is more”.
While it is important not to decorate your Feed with everything you have at home, having spiritual elements around you will most definitely bring your Feed to the next level.
If it is hard finding the right place at your home to go live from, you may always hang up a tapestry on a bare wall which may serve as a decoration piece. However, let us highlight that wrinkled, shiny and tablecloth-like tapestry is not sufficient and it may even be worse than a wall with a few framed pictures hanged behind you.
Examples of Good Rated Feeds:
Quality and equipment
Having the right technical setup is the most important for a sharp, stable and continuous camera image. If you meet the below mentioned requirements, you are on your way to have a good quality stream on our site:
This mainly consists of the camera device, the streaming device (computer or smartphone) and the lighting equipment.
OranumCam – dedicated software for desktop streaming
To create the best and most personalized experience streaming-wise, we have a dedicated software to stream on desktop devices which is called OranumCam.
However, it is not the only option to go live from a PC as we have a browser version of this software too. (Nevertheless, we still recommend using the installable application as it offers more features to increase your earnings with.)
Once you log in to OranumCam, you are able to select from the following resolutions:
Upon running OranumCam, an automatic Speedtest will run and it will determine the best possible resolution available compared to your internet connection. Also, these options are only shown if you have a camera that is capable of handling them and if your device’s specifications meet the minimum requirements as well.
These resolutions are visible for the Members on the Site as well and they can adjust the quality of your Feed manually up to their liking. This ensures that they can enjoy your live sessions constantly in high quality which gives them an overall good impression of you.
Oranum Broadcaster Application – mobile streaming
It is also possible to go live from mobile devices with the Oranum Broadcaster Application which is available on both iOS and Android systems. However, it is not possible to pre-select anything before going live resolution-wise as the application will automatically detect the best one based on your internet connection and the specifications of your device.
Using your mobile device is a great way to be live from various places but remember, these should also qualify to the previously set requirements.
When it comes to mobile streaming, the main issue usually is an unstable, wrongly positioned phone. To solve this, we recommend getting a tripod to stabilize your device or set it at a fixed place to avoid any unnecessary falling or shaking which could ruin the aesthetics of the Feed.
Let us also highlight that we have a dedicated page about our mobile requirements here.
Please note that watermarks, appearance altering filters and effects are not acceptable on your video feed.
